Help for Older Adults with Vision Problems

08 Aug 2008

Older adults with vision problems but limited finances may qualify for free or low-cost benefits by visiting a Web site set up by the National Council on Aging and EyeCare America. The seniors or their caregivers go to www.BenefitsCheckUp.org and fill out a questionnaire; they then will be sent a report stating the programs for which they qualify, including treatment for glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, cataracts and more. The treatment is provided by more than 7,000 volunteer ophthalmologists.
